FPE Capital LLP (‘FPE’), the specialist software and services growth investor into UK and Irish lower mid-market companies, is further expanding its investment team with the appointment of Sam Greenberg as Investment Manager. Sam joins the team following the successful recent Fund III raise which saw FPE raise the new fund’s hard cap to final close at £185m.
Sam joins FPE from EY and Downing LLP. At EY he worked in lower mid-market UK M&A with a strong focus on specialist software, in particular in the EdTech sector, before spending time in the growth investment team at Downing LLP.
The appointment marks a further step in the development of the FPE investment team as it continues its strong sector focus on the software and services sector and follows FPE’s first investment from the new Fund III in late March when it invested into Egress, a data migration and cloud services specialist. During 2021, FPE closed 5 successful exits including 4 from its Fund II, at an average exit multiple of 3.9x, returning the whole fund and leaving seven further portfolio companies in the fund.
