FPE held its 8th annual FPE Growth Conference bringing together over 70 CEOs, Chairs, and senior leaders of software and software services companies from across our portfolio to discuss key themes impacting our industry.
The common thread throughout this year's Conference was 'Recognising and Managing through the Inconvenient Truths of Growth'—acknowledging the challenging and often uncomfortable realities that come with scaling a business and finding strategies to navigate them effectively.
Our ongoing partner, the Cambridge Judge Business School (CJBS), led the academic sessions, with Jeremy Hutchison-Krupat, Associate Professor in Innovation and Operations Management at the CJBS, exploring important concepts and their real-world applications for our portfolio companies.
Alongside fantastic sessions from Jeremy and the FPE team, we heard first-hand how AI is being utilised in some of our portfolio companies. We were also privileged to be joined by esteemed speakers:
◾ Warren East, former CEO of ARM and Rolls Royce, captivated us with his personal experiences, offering invaluable insights from his distinguished career in the technology industry.
◾ Dr Bill Mitchell, a leading psychologist specialising in helping the overwhelmed, overstressed, and overscheduled rebalance their personal and professional lives and author of 'Time to Breathe', spoke on 'Turning off when the candle burns brightest.'
◾ Professor David S., Professor of Computational Social Science at CJBS, whose research uses big data to understand psychology, provided insights about big data, Cambridge Analytica, and AI.
◾ Professor Kristin Behfar, whose research focuses on sustaining high-performance teamwork and leading in global organisations, delved into inconvenient truths such as the psychology of interdependence and practices that can have backlash.
