BVCA Accelerate Conference: Key Takeaways on 'The Final Push: From VC, to Growth, to Exit'
At last week's British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Accelerate Conference, Henry Sallitt joined the panel alongside Keith Davidson (Scottish Equity Partners (SEP), Olav Ostin (TempoCap), and chair Adam Crossley (Stephenson Harwood LLP) on 'The Final Push: From VC, to Growth, to Exit'.
The conversation focused on what it takes to scale successfully beyond Series A - navigating late-stage growth, managing strategic investment, sustaining momentum, and weighing up exit routes, from IPO to acquisition and everything in between.
The key takeaways from the session were:
◾ Exits need to be planned from the point of investment, across all aspects of the business
◾ Complicated cap structures can be an obstacle to shareholder alignment
◾ There is still a strong appetite in the market for high-quality businesses
At FPE, we back software, data and services businesses with the potential for long-term growth, working closely with management teams to ensure they are set up for success when the time comes to exit.
